I'M INTERESTED IN BUYING A HOUSE! WHERE DO I BEGIN!?

Purchasing a home is one of the most exciting times of your life! 

Although, there are many obstacles to overcome, I will guide you with the least amount of worries to obtain that special "place to call home". 

Below is a brief description of the Home Buying Process, together we will go over ANY QUESTIONS you may have. NEVER hesitate in asking!

1.  Have your finances in order. 

This is an important step to begin the process.  This paperwork will be called upon when applying for your mortgage.

 

2.  Ask about different financing options.

1st Time Home Buyer?  203K?  VA Loan? There are MANY options to discuss with our mortgage broker to find the BEST options for you.

 

3.  Decide and get a Pre-Approval Letter.

Once you decide on the mortgage that works for you, its time to get the pre-approval letter for the funds available to you so we can now be aggressive towards an offer on the home of your dreams!

 

4.  Pick your Realtor!

(I happen to know a guy.) Knowing the process from A to Z and looking out for you is only the beginning!  Being very hands on and working with you is one of my specialties.  TOGETHER we will find the perfect home!

 

5.  Narrow down the towns you would like to move to and all your "wants" for your new home.

Come up with list from top to bottom of all of your WANTS so we can dial in on that perfect place with as many options as we can fill.

 

6.  Keep your eyes open!

NOT every house you see will be perfect.  Also, look out for homes on the market for a long term, look into why it may be still be on the market.  Also, look out for rehabbed homes or "flips" as there may be hidden issues within these homes.

 

7.  CONTINUE TO SAVE MONEY.

DO NOT SPEND, Change jobs or grow into DEBT!  This can effect ALL of the process and you may set yourself up sabotaging your hard earned time and excitement when you find that house you want!  There will also be closing costs associated with your purchase, your going to want to have that in case anything arises.

 

8.  Make an offer on a home that peaks your interests.

You have found that home, NOW whats next?  The offer.  What are you willing to spend on that dream home?  Many houses in the current NY market will have multiple offers.  Together we will come up with a buyers strategy to make it yours!

 

9.  Get an Inspection.

This is an important part of the process.  It lets you see any issues that may arise and give you negotiating room when we are interacting with the seller or the sellers agent.

 

10. Close on your dream home.

The process involves many people to make this happen.  You, the seller, the attorneys, the mortgage broker, the bank holding the mortgage, and the Titler.  All of these people make home buying dreams come true!

 

11. MOVE INTO YOUR DREAM HOME!

You have the keys, NOW its time to CELEBRATE!!! Whats your next goal in your home?  Ready to just move in?  Take a deep breath, you JUST OBTAINED THE HOUSE OF YOUR DREAMS!  CONGRATULATIONS!!!
